Chetu's Story
Chapter 3: The Visit to Town

Ever since the morning, Chetu had butterflies in his stomach. He had never had such a feeling before. He knew something was about to happen, but he just didn’t know what.
The anticipation ended when Ritu invited Chetu to visit town with her. The idea of going to the townside had always fascinated Chetu. His face lit up with excitement. Urbanized cities, buildings and cars had always intrigued him. Today, he would finally get to see what they actually looked like.
Chetu: Yes! Of course I’ll come with you.
Ritu: Good, I have a long list of groceries to buy. We will head on to do that first. Then we can go anywhere you want to see.
Chetu was happy and relieved. Happy to have gotten a golden opportunity, and relieved to have realized what the weird feeling, the one that had bothered him since dawn was all about.
Chetu: Okay, that sounds like a perfect plan to me.
Ritu: Let’s get going then!
Ritu was apprehensive that they might miss the bus that was scheduled to leave at 6:00. So the both of them scurried towards the bus stop at the end of the jungle road, and made it in time by the skin of their teeth.
Chetu stared at the bus. It was a large, non-living, moving object to him and its greyish color reminded him of his friend Bunty, the elephant. Chetu would sit on his back and roam around the woods. This feeling warmed his heart.
Chetu didn’t know what life had in store for him ahead. But he was certain about one thing, his life would not be the same from this point on.
